DUGWAY STATION

Dear Students,

Dugway Station in Juab County had poor accommodations for travelers. One visitor described it as a dugout in the ground, roofed with cedar logs and operated by two half-drunk boys. He said that the station had no table or chairs, and that tin plates of greasy stew were eaten while standing. There wasn't feed for livestock or water for passengers. But it was necessary for a station to be there so that teams could be rested before starting the steep climb to Dugway Pass.
