Ghost Riders and Rest Stops Packet B

BOYD'S STATION

Dear Students,

Boyd's Station was also know as Halfway Station and was located in Juab County. The Simpson trail turned south and was used by miners going to Nevada. The Egan Trail continued west and was the route followed by the Overland Stage and those headed for the California gold fields.

Although small, Boyd's station was solid built of mortared stone and had rifle portholes for defense against raiding Indians. Its ruins are now protected by a fence. How would you have protected a station from the Indians?
