This lesson plan is to help students learn the difference between natural and synthetic fibers.

The Natural and Synthetic handouts are the overheads from this lesson.


Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to correctly match natural and synthetic fibers.


Instructional Procedures

Give students the natural and synthetic fibers papers. Divide the class into 5 groups. Assign each group one of the 5 paragraphs to read. Then have them do a Tea Party. Have them get into groups and explain what they read to 4-6 other students. Have them continue to do this until they have had all 5 paragraphs explained to them.
Hand out the fiber game cards. Have the students work as a group to put the fibers into the correct categories. Check student work.
