This timeline could be used in a variety of ways: 1. As a guide for discussion of each time period listed for the creation of the Grand Canyon. 2. To set up groups to do research on each of the points on the time line 3. To review the correct order of the time line that the students create after being given the pieces to the puzzle cut from Rock Layers Tell Stories of the Past handout.
The assessment would be based upon which of the three possible activities you have done using the time line. For number 3 the assessment is simple-- have they created the timeline of the Grand Canyon in the correct order?
