The sun is in the sky, it is bright and it is warm.
Students will know what the sun is and why it is important for earth.
!. Ask "What is the sun?" and have students respond to question orally. 2. Have students fill out the "What I know about the sun" and "What I want to know about the sun" sections of the KWL. 3. View "The Sun" video 4.View and discuss infographic 6. Have students complete the "What I learned section of the KWL"
1 Have the students draw a picture showing how the suns' energy helps the Earth. The infographic and video will help the struggling and ESL learners
How the sun effects growth in plants.Have 6 or more seedlings and put half in the sun and half in a place where they don't get any sun and monitor growth .
The students will be assessed by their participation in the discussions and their completion of the KWL chart.
