Background for Teachers

Need to know grade level benchmarks for reading and writing. How to use the piktochart tool to make infographics. https://magic.piktochart.com/editor/piktochart/3093121#

Student Prior Knowledge

Students should know what their responsibilities are as a first grader. They know what their grade level goals should be, including benchmark DRA, reading and writing levels. A student needs to be able to identify and list responsibilities they have in the school. They also need to be able to describe and practice responsible behavior inherent in being a good citizen in the school. A successful student should participate in responsible activities that contribute to the school (follow teacher directions, participate in discussions, share ideas).

Intended Learning Outcomes

Show an infographic with keys to what a successful substitute would need to have. The infographic will be able to help them see what their performance is at currently for a first grade level. It will also remind them of what their goal to be successful is so they're ready for second grade.

Instructional Procedures

The students need to know what their benchmarks should be throughout the year, so they can keep focused and ready to work hard.

Strategies for Diverse Learners

Have students be able to see progress. They can see the benchmark data, but also try to show growth in other areas, reading comprehension, for example.
