Intended Learning Outcomes

Learn: 'Tria' is three in Greek, so triangle is a shape with three sides. 'Pente' is five in Greek so, pentagon is a shape with five corners. 'Hexi' is six in Greek so, hexagon is a shape with six corners. 'Octo' is eight in Greek so, octagon is a shape with eight corners.

Brainstorm words that begin with the prefix 'tri' and 'oct'. The list might include: triceratops, tricolor, tricycle, trident, triennial, trio, trilogy, triple, triplet, triplicate, and tripod. For 'oct' it would include octave, and octopus. Use SmartBoard Activity Toolkit
