Summary

This is a game to help teach or review cooking terms.

Materials

Playing cards for the game.

Background for Teachers

This is a good game to use as a review before a test or if there is extra time in class. Copy the pages onto card stock and laminate them. Cut out 32 cards of the same size with a number on each one (1-32) and laminate them. If you have a dry erase board, buy a roll of sticky-back magnetic tape and cut a small piece to put on the top back of each card. If not, use tape.

To play, put the cards with the definition and pictures on the board close together in a square. Place the number cards over the top of them. (If using the magnet cards, the number cards need to be placed a little higher on the board so the magnet will stick.)

Divide the class into 2 teams. One person from team #1 uncovers two number cards. If the cards don't match, they are put back on the board and the other team takes a turn. If the cards do match, that team earns a point and the matching cards are taken down. That team then gets another turn. The game continues until all the matches are found.
