Summary

Students will learn what tools and equipment they need to use for successful quilt making. Each student will learn how to use these items. Student will also know and understand the terms he/she needs to know to be successful in making a quilt.


Materials

Resources, supplies, and equipment are listed on the lesson plan which is attached to Instructional Procedures.


Background for Teachers

Teacher needs to know and how to use the tool and equipment used for quiltmaking. Teacher also needs to know the terms used in quiltmaking.


Student Prior Knowledge

Students do not need any prior knowledge of tools, equipment, and terms used in quiltmaking. This should be accomplished in this lesson.


Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to identify and use the tools and equipment used in quilt making.

Assessment Plan

Websites

Students will fill out and turn in the worksheets on vocabulary words, and tools and equipment. These worksheets will be handed back to the students. A quiz will be given at the end of Lesson Plan # 6. The McCall's Quick Quilts Magazine has a very good glossary of quilting terms.
