Show the students the drawing of the Rotten, Red-Headed, Older Brother. Have
you ever tried to put yourself in a book that you’ve read? What did the
Rotten, Red-Headed, Older Brother think or say in the book?

Family Connections
Read through a favorite book or fairy tale. Discuss the character using thoughts,
words, feelings, things tried, things done, strengths, and weaknesses.
Were students able to provide adequate responses for each of the areas?
