Summary: In this class, participants adapt one of their curriculum unit plans to incorporate multimedia presentations and online tools. UEN provides a variety of web tools for teachers including online educational videos, my.uen, www.activities, online lesson plans, and others that are reviewed. Participants use the www.activities tool to create an activity that uses higher-order thinking questions to prompt Internet research. They prepare a multimedia presentation using PowerPoint, Presentations, Virtual Tours or SURWEB. Participants use research-proven information literacy strategies to incorporate other Internet resources into their curriculum unit. At the end of the workshop, teachers have a unit plan enhanced with quality technology resources ready to teach to their students.
Materials: Below the manual for the two-day class is attached in both MS Word (.doc) format and as an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) file.
