Computer, iMovie software


Background for Teachers

In order to present these lessons, the teacher and each student will need to have access to a computer with Internet access and iMovie software, a projection system, digital video camera and appropriate cables for attaching the camera to the computer. A computer lab, with one computer for each student would be an ideal setting for the iMovie instruction. Each student and the teacher should have access to a digital video camera. They may share one or use one of their own.


Student Prior Knowledge

Students have an iMovie lesson ready to insert titles, transitions, and effects.


Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will know how to insert titles, transitions, and effects into an iMovie.

Attachments

1. Teacher and students will refer to iMovie Lesson Seven in the User Guide and the iMovie Terminology reference sheet found in the attachments section below.
2. Teacher will show how to add and edit titles to an iMovie.
3. Teacher will show how to add transitions to an iMovie.
4. Teacher will show how to add effects to an iMovie.
5. Students will add and edit titles to their iMovie project.
6. Students will add transitions to their iMovie project.
7. Students will add effects to their iMovie project.
8. Students will save their iMovie project.
9. Students will complete the job aid for iMovie lesson 7.


Assessment Plan

Attachments

The students will show an iMovie lesson with titles, transitions, and effects. They will also complete the checklist to assess the completion of skills learned in this lesson. The checklist for this lesson can be downloaded by clicking on the link below.
