FCS Exploration
Strand 2 Standard 1
2 class periods of 70 minutes each
Students will use the elements and principles of design learned in this unit to design a room inside of a shoe box.
Hot glue guns, glue sticks, fabric scraps, colored construction or scrapbook paper, pom-poms, ribbon, Popsicle sticks, pipe cleaners, jewels, pony beads, colored pencils, crayons, rulers, scissors, etc.
Students will be able to apply their understanding of the elements and principles of interior design to create their own unique room design.
Each student will need a shoe box brought from home. If a shoe box in unavailable, they may use any shallow type of box. This project is meant to be a final assessment of the interior design unit. The students will use the elements and principles of design to create their own unique room design.
Use the attached grading sheet to assess how well the elements and principles of design were used in each of the shoe box rooms.
