Summary

Students will compare water, ammonia and methane shapes and resulting polarity by using their text. They will summarize their results on a table. The second part is a newscast the students write showing changes on Earth that would result if water were replaced by ammonia or methane.


Materials


Instructional Procedures

  1. Identify the pages students will need to read and direct them to those pages.
  2. Ask them to look at the student page and read the introduction together. Tell them that their conclusion will not be found in their books, they will have to look at their data.
  3. Give students times to collect the data and fill in their tables.
  4. Ask students to work in groups to create the newscast. It can be presented to the class, video taped or just written.
