Summary
Students will conduct a lab making a slime-like material in order to answer the question "How does cross-linking change the properties of a polymer?"
Materials
- student lab sheet (attached)
- goggles
- 2 wooden splints
- Apron
- Polyvinyl alcohol (4% solution)
- graduated cylinder
- Sodium tetraborate (4% solution) (Borax)
- 2 paper cups
- diluted white glue containing polyvinyl acetate
- food coloring
