Character & Integrity

Time Frame:
1 class period that runs 70 minutes.


 

Summary:
Students will learn qualities that build character and integrity.

Strand 1 Standard 1

Explain how self-concept and self-esteem are built and preserved and how this relates to the perception of individual strengths and weaknesses.

Background For Teachers:
The textbook used is, "Strengthening Family and Self" published by Goodheart-Willcox.

Intended Learning Outcomes:
Identify the influences of labeling and stereotyping.

Instructional Procedures:
Journal, Text, Motivator (pictures of people in different settings), Activity - Tootsie-pops, Story - You are Mine by Lucado, Cartoon: For Better - Way you Look, Video Clip - “Life is Beautiful” Scene 9, Preparation for Motivator next time (numbered puzzle pieces).
