UTIPS Update - Julie Quinn
- UTIPS Steering Committee met on Feb. 1st. The transition of accounts off of the SESC server to the UEN server will happen on Feb. 26. The URL will be myutips.org.
- www.utips.org will point to a USOE page that will direct educators to the correct UTIPS server.
- As soon as Julie has a development environment she will add the Secondary Language Arts core and get the existing test items aligned. The Operator's Group will need to figure out how to get those changes out to the various servers around the state.
- Clint Stephens shared the blog that he is using to keep track of eDesk 2 UTIPS bugs: http://edublog.sedck12.org/
- SEDC is using Open Source software from http://b2evolution.net/ for their blog.
Gadget of the Month - Robert Gordon showed a variety of audio related things:
- $6 cable with a headphone / microphone jack on both end. He took the mic that Jim Langston had - plugged one end of the cable into the mic and the other into his computer.
- iTalk Pro is a microphone for an iPod. Robert demonstrated how easy it is to download them to his computer. You will find the voice memos in the list in the left frame.
- Mic splitter - $4 or $5 lets two people listen to one iPod or computer.
- BlueMic Snowball - $100
- Logitech USB Desktop Microphone
