UEN now has a new option for section recovery available to administrators in Blackboard Vista (online.uen.org). When something is deleted by mistake, a Vista administrator can recover data from the section using a remote database (a copy of the Vista database that is 24 hours behind). If you need to recover section data from more than 24 hours (up to 7 days), this can be done as well, with a little bit more work.

Faculty cannot restore sections themselves, so if you make a mistake and need data recovered from a section, contact the Faculty Assistance Center staff on your campus right away to let them know what needs to be restored and they should be able to help you.

UEN has installed the Respondus StudyMate Class Server powerlink enabling collaboration between instructors and students in creating interactive materials for courses. This software is provided on a free trial basis for institutions to try out. The trial goes through the end of 2008, but will be extended through spring 2009 if we get at least 10 courses to use it. If you are interested in trying out StudyMate, contact your institution's Faculty Assistance Center to find out more.

Each day thousands of students access their Blackboard courses from UEN's hosted Blackboard Vista system. UEN monitors system activity to provide usage reporting and to ensure service reliability.
