Strand 2

Students will be introduced to elements of design, housing, interior design and apparel and how it impacts families, communities and careers.

Standard 4

Discuss how interiors are affected by furniture arrangements and traffic patterns in the home and/or business.
  • Design a Room
    Students will demonstrate their understanding of the basics of design by designing their own "great room," using appropriate color schemes.
  • Ethan Allen Room Design Computer Project
    This project can be used to assess information learned in the Interior Design Unit. Specifically, floor plans and furniture arrangement.

  • Interior Design, Lesson 4
    There are many different types of furnishings and accessories available for interior design. Choose furnishings and accessories based on color, line, pattern, texture, shape, and mood.
