Students will recognize and apply the principles and elements of fashion design and associated careers.
Standard 2
Demonstrate knowledge of the principles (rules) of design.

Emphasis - Principle of Design
Students learn the principle of design, Emphasis, through class participation, a PowerPoint presentation, and a portfolio assignment.

Figure Analysis
Teach students to apply the Principles and Elements to their body type. This lesson Plan can be taught with Principles and Elements of Design or with the Personal Fashion Unit.
Includes powerpoint on Face shapes, and discussion of personal colors.

Harmony - Principle of Design
Teaches the principle of design: Harmony.

Introduction to the Principles of Design & Balance
This lesson teaches the relationship of the principles of design to the elements and also the principle of balance.

Principles of Design
Students will learn about the principles of design by viewing a PowerPoint presentation and then find examples of those principles in magazines.

Principles of Design Quiz
Students will review the principes of design in groups and then take the quiz individually.

Proportion Flattering the Figure- Principle of Design
Teach students how to create a flattering figure and demonstrate their knowledge through a portfolio page.

Rhythm - Principle of Design
Teach the principle of rhythm using an attention-getting introduction, a PowerPoint presentation, and portfolio pages.
