  • All Sorts of Rocks
    In this lesson, students access their prior knowledge of sorting with a card sort and a book before being asked to apply their understanding of sorting to rocks. This will help students understand the concepts of hardness, texture, layering, and particle size as they relate to rocks.

    This lesson helps students see that rules exist to keep themselves and others safe.
  • My Kind of Friend
    This lesson explores what qualities make a good friend. This is a way to help students become aware of positive and inappropriate behaviors.
  • Plant and Animal Changes
    Students will learn about animal adaptation, hibernation, and migration.
  • Tonight's Homework - Watch Cartoons
    Students will learn about the different forms of media, such as newspapers, radio, and television.
  • Where do you live?
    Activities and a game help students compare rural, suburban, and urban communities.

  • My Piece of History
    In this lesson, from EDSITEment, students examine pictures of household objects from the late 20th century, gather historical information about them from older family members, and then create an in-class exhibit of historical objects from their own homes.
