  • Cinderella Stories From Around the World
    Several version of Cinderella are read to students as they fill out comparison charts. The fairy tale genre is introduced.
  • Clustering
    Students will organize electricity-related vocabulary words into a web or cluster design.
  • Eye Spy a Pattern
    Students will learn how to see patterns by understanding how things work together.
  • Eye Spy a Rule
    Students will learn to analyze a pattern and identify the rules for the pattern. They will also learn how to represent those rules.
  • Free That Slave!
    Through this unit, students will learn some of the hardships faced by African Americans during the slavery period of our history. Students will learn to accurately quote from a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the texts about peoples attitudes and opinions
  • Human Rights and Discrimination
    Students will learn about discrimination and the many ways people are discriminated against by describing how a narratorÂ’s or speakerÂ’s point of view influences how events are described.
  • Landforms in a Tub
    Students will use common household items to build landforms and simulate weathering and erosion.
  • The Human Line Plot
    Students will learn about collecting data and using charts and line plots to graph the data.
  • What Does Average Look Like?
    This lesson will help students understand the concepts of range, median, mode, and mean through the use of graphs drawn from models.
  • What Happened Next?
    Using a short story of your choice, students organize story events into proper sequence.

  • Engaging Students in a Collaborative Exploration of the Gettysburg Address
    This lesson plan invites groups of students to learn more about the historical significance of President Abraham Lincoln's famous speech as well as the time period and people involved. Students will work together, participating in inquiry projects based on the speech, using the words and phrases of the speech itself.
  • Writing Poetry Like Pros
    This set of 4 lesson plans from EDSITEment utilizes poetry to serve as the inspiration for some terrific writing. Using poems available through EDSITEment resources, educators can make poetry an exciting teaching and learning tool in the classroom.
