(Vocabulary): Students learn and use grade level vocabulary to increase understanding and read fluently.
Objective 1
Learn new words through listening and reading widely.

  • Coordinate Connections
    Students will complete several activities that involve coordinates and graph paper.
  • Notes on the Seasons
    Students will complete guided notes while learning about the earth's seasons.
  • Patterned Paragraphs
    The objective of this activity is to reinforce the importance of being specific while dealing with events of a sequential nature, such as the phases of the moon.
  • The Analemma
    To help understand that the sun's position in the sky is not constant, students will learn about analemmas.
  • Tracking Sunrise and Sunset
    Students will collect, record, and graph the sunrise and sunset times.
