Strand 4:

Locating sources and access information.

Standard 1:

Locate identified sources and access information within sources.
  • Compare Spanish Speaking Country Information
    The purpose of this activity is two fold. The first is to show students that information can be found in both print and digital formats. The second is help the student in the Spanish class to understand another what another country is like.
  • Finding Materials in the Library
    Students are given a list of materials that exist in the library. They have a time limit to find the materials. Answer a question about each item on the list and return the paper to the teacher.
  • Library Orientation
    Through an orientation for students, they will understand the basics of the library layout and how to utilize search computers efficiently to find books and information.
  • Synthesizing Information with UtahFutures.org
    Students will utilize UtahFutures.org as an introduction to databases and information collection, as well as gain an understanding of post high school options.
