Standard 2
(Writing): Students will write informational and literary text to reflect on and recreate experiences, report observations, and persuade others.
Objective 2
(Extended Writing): Write to critique literary text and to evaluate informational text. (Emphasize expository writing. Students should use the entire writing process to produce at least one extended piece per term, not necessarily limited to the type of writing emphasized at individual grade levels.)

  • Paradigm Online Writing Assistant
    Paradigm is an interactive online writer's guide. It is intended to be useful for all writers, from inexperienced to advanced.
  • University of Iowa Business Writing Tutorial
    This business-writing reference contains tips and useful information on the writing process, as well as suggestions and online quizzes related to improving grammar and style. Additionally, it has a variety of sample business documents to peruse.
  • University of Richmond's Writers' Web
    Writer's Web is a free, public-access handbook designed and maintained by University of Richmond students and faculty. The site enables the user to explore topics via the various stages of the writing process. The site includes information on writing in non-English subject areas.
