ED PS 6560: Multimedia Learning
Description:
This University of Utah graduate course provides a survey of computer software and hardware options available for making multimedia presentations. Students will complete assignments and a term project using presentation software.
Prerequisites:
Basic computer and Internet skills.
Objectives:
Students will learn
- The psychological basis for believing that multimedia learning can be superior to non-multimedia formats, at least under certain circumstances.
- How multimedia can be utilized in a classroom situation to facilitate student learning.
- How to use a set of tools for manipulating images (Adobe Photoshop) and video (Apple Final Cut Pro)
Assignments:
Still image and video group projects. The group will design and execute the projects as if they were K-12 students.
Credit:
3 University of Utah graduate credits
This course can be used to satisfy the "Enhanced Software & Hardware Skills" component of the Educational Technology Endorsement Program (ETEP).
Standards:
This module will help the teacher to meet NETS*T standard I.
This module will help your students to meet NETS*S foundation standard 1.
