The metadata elements clustered under LifeCycle group the features related to the history and current state of a media item and those who have affected this media item during its evolution. The types of data that should be included in the LifeCycle group are: 1. Version: the edition of the learning object 2. Status: the completion status or condition of this learning object (draft, final, revised, unavailable). NOTE: eMedia uses 011: vw_workflow_status to represent the status of media items as they move into the DAM system. 3. Contribute: those entities (i.e., people, organizations) that have contributed to the state of this learning object during its life cycle (e.g., creation, edits, publication). Subcategories may include Roles, Entity Contacts, and Dates). |

WORKFLOW STATUS is a continuously updated metadata field that identifies at what step in the development and posting process a media item resides. Currently, many of the recommended values in the picklist are related to defining video media items and their segments. Other descriptors may be added as additional types of media are added to the asset management system. |

"Workflow Status" is one of the mandatory metadata fields that must be populated in a challenge window when a video program is being set up for ingestion with the Virage Video Logger system. |
