Lucidchart is a diagramming tool, similar to Inspiration, that’s built for fast and easy diagram creation online. Documents can be easily shared among a group and edited simultaneously, making Lucidchart ideal for group projects and student-teacher collaboration.

Accessing your account inside of Google Apps

Easy Setup Lucidchart & free educational account

  1. Access the app online at lucidchart.com
  2. Fill out the educational request form to request a free upgrade. Lucid Software will approve the account and send an email confirmation.

Easy setup Lucidchart with Google Apps & free educational account
Google Apps Admins should:

  1. Add the Lucidchart Diagramming for Education app to the appropriate domain.
  2. Fill out the educational request form to request a free upgrade. Lucid Software will approve the account and send an email confirmation.

Easy Set up Lucidchart free educational account & team account (without Google)
If you need to administer Lucidchart accounts, but don’t have a Google Apps domain, you should:

  1. Access the app online at lucidchart.com
  2. Create a team account.
  3. Fill out the educational request form once you’ve logged into the team account.
  4. Have team members access their accounts by logging on at lucidchart.com.

Administrating your team account
To manage a team account, the account administrator should:

  1. Add faculty and staff users to the team.
  2. Promote teachers to team admin status so they can add student users.
  3. Have teachers create a new group for their class(es) and add students to that group with the .csv upload tool.

If your team account includes an entire district, the account admin should:

  1. Create one account for the main IT contact at each school.
  2. Promote that user to team admin status.
  3. Have each main IT contact add faculty and staff users to the team.

Accessing your account within Google Apps
To access your personal account:

  1. Click the App Launcher inside your Google Apps environment.
  2. Select More > Lucidchart. An educational account will be automatically created for you.

To have your students use Lucidchart in the classroom:

  1. Request team admin status from your account admin.
  2. Create a new group for your class(es) and add students to that group with the .csv upload tool. Organizing students by group makes it easy to share documents with the entire class.

Accessing your account through Lucidchart
To access your account through our website:

  1. Go to the login page and enter your username and password. This is the required login method if you aren’t integrated with Google Apps.

Lucidchart in your classroom

Use it for planning projects, brainstorming ideas, creating concept maps, filling out graphic organizers, collaborating on group projects, and many other tasks.

Higher Education Overview

Lucidchart for universities and colleges
Lucidchart is a web-based diagramming program similar to Microsoft Visio. Lucidchart makes it easy to create flowcharts, mockups, wireframes, and many other diagram types. This app allows you to collaborate with students and faculty in the classroom or with researchers on the other side of the world.
