What is Wimba Classroom? |
Wimba Classroom is a service that allows educators to communicate with students, parents and colleagues online with 2-way audio, video, interactive whiteboard and chat. A teacher could use the Wimba Classroom for virtual office hours or parent conferences or in many other ways. To learn more about Wimba Classroom, visit http://www.uen.org/wimba/. You can add a Wimba Classroom portlet to your my.uen page to make it easy for you and participants to access your Wimba Classroom. After adding the portlet, you or other participants can access your Wimba classroom from your my.uen page.

Use the "Preview my Public Page" link to see what the portlet will look like to visitors (your view is slightly different). You can customize what is displayed by following the customization instructions below.
You can customize how your name appears in your Wimba Classroom, whether participants are allowed access, the description of the portlet, whether the setup wizard link is displayed, and the name of your Wimba Portlet.

Note: You can add multiple Wimba portlets to different my.uen pages / tabs. The preferences (participant access, description, and setup wizard link) are unique for each of your my.uen pages.
Click the title at the top of the Wimba Classroom portlet window and change the title.

You can access your Wimba classroom as the presenter either from your personal page or from any page to which you have added the Wimba portlet. Participants can access your Wimba classroom through the Wimba portlet that you have added to a my.uen page. It is very important that both you and your participants run the Setup Wizard prior to entering the Wimba Classroom.
As a presenter, you can access your Wimba classroom by either of the following methods:

Using either of these methods opens a new Wimba Classroom Administration window that you can use to enter your classroom, add content to the room, administer recorded archives, view tracking reports, and more. To find out more about these options see http://www.uen.org/wimba/.

Participants can join your Wimba Classroom from the public view of your Wimba Portlet. You can e-mail participants the URL to your my.uen page (e.g. http://my.uen.org/12345), and they will be able to join your Wimba Classroom through the public view of the portlet, which looks like this:
