NEW: Core Content Literacy Strategy

Headline It!
Students work in groups to summarize the day's lesson, the particular unit, chapter, etc. by turning it into a newspaper headline. This process forces students to determine what the most important information is and to focus on that alone. To further reinforce the headline, students also create a visual representation of their headline. They can present their work to the class and explain their thinking behind it. Or, the work from all groups can be displayed and students can do a gallery walk to view all the headlines.
