"Utah's Stream Connections" is an integrated K-12 program designed to connect teachers and students with local streams and watersheds. The program, which encourages personal as well as curricular connections, illustrates the importance of the waters found in streams, ponds, and wetlands throughout Utah and the world. It additionally emphasizes the relationship between human choices and water resources.Educators and students alike will realize the value of active intervention as they discover their responsibility to act as stewards of these precious natural resources.
The online resources for "Utah's Stream Connections" include data entry, online graphing, stream talk (where comments and questions can be posted), and grade specific lesson plans for K-12 teachers. Many of the activities are designed for implementation both within a classroom setting as well as in the field. The program also includes links to a variety of online resources, information about materials needed, and demonstrations of field protocols for data collection.
