Inference for Relationships
Association between two categorical variables is displayed in a two way table, and the null hypotheses that no association is present is tested by the chi-square test. Association between two quantitative variables is displayed by a scatterplot. If the association is linear, it is described by a regression line and its strength is measured by the correlation coefficient.
