ExplorA-Pond is an online telecommunications project that encourages worldwide, online collaboration as K-12 students study pond ecology and create a database of pond descriptions.

You may participate at different levels:

Class participation : Any certified teacher can register his/her class and adopt a pond in their neighborhood. Registered classes agree to submit a description of their pond, a photo of the pond, and share results from at least one of twenty four pond activity/lesson plans conducted on the adopted pond. Registered teachers will receive special passwords allowing their students a realtime tele-collaborative experience as they enter their results online. Community participation: Visit ExplorA-Pond, submit results of one pond activity/lesson plan (use our virtual pond if need be), participate in the Pond Talk discussion groups, share your suggestions for constructing a pond in the outdoorclassroom - all without registering.
