Barton Creek enters the outdoor classroom site from the east. The view below shows the cement lined channel that the creek follows from the foothills to the outdoor classroom site.

Crossing under the road, the stream enters the outdoor classroom site free of the cement restrictions. Compare the photo on the left, taken in June, and the photo on the right, taken in May during high runoff, and note the change in the force of the water.

During high runoff, the stream floods the sandy spot just west (left side) of the tree. Some have suggested that a pond be built at this point.
