Duck Islet (2)

Barton Creek continues west and creates a temporary islet during high runoff. Frequently ducks are seen in this area.

Blending into the background, two ducks walk along the streambank. An example of camouflage. There is also a ground squirrel in the second photo. Click on the squirrel to see it close up.

The photo below, left shows the high runoff. If you look closely you can see "Spencer" and "Betty", two ducks, resting on the north bank. The photo on the right shows one of the trees felled by 100 mph winds in April of 2000.
