WILLOW SPRINGS STATION

Dear Students,

Willow Springs was an oasis in the desert where weary travelers were greeted by springs of fresh water, giant cottonwood trees and fields of green grass. Good overnight lodging and hot meals were available. A number of ranchers and prospectors called Willow Springs home. Willow Springs did have problems. Indians were particularly troublesome at Willow Springs and on the trail west. They often raided the stage company herds. Even so after the water and food, passengers were reluctant to face the desert trail to the next stop at Round Station.
