After working through this project you will learn how Native Americans are making progress through self-determination and self-government. The Hispanic community has a rich cultural heritage. You will be able to list the contributions that African Americans have made to Utah.
How do Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders keep their cultural heritage? Why did the varied Religions impact the state of Utah and what dimension did new Immigrants add to the communities?
Why do people come to Utah?
Print out all information from the internet and create overheads. Use it as a extra credit assignment for students who have internet access.
Ethnic groups:
A group of people with characteristics in
common that distinguish them from most other people of the
same society. Members may have ties of ancestry, culture,
language, nationality or religion, or a combination of these
things.
How have the Ethnic minorities impacted the State of Utah?
Students will gain the understanding that all members of the human race are descendants of an ethnic group.
