Students will be able to understand and demonstrate how humans alter nature systems.

Understand the different types of pollution and its effects on the environment.

Understand how global climate change has effected the environment.

Perform basic arithmetic functions.

  1. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers
  2. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions
  3. Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals

Standard 2
Convert fractions/decimals.

  1. Convert fractions to decimal equivalents
  2. Convert decimal values to nearest fractional equivalent
  3. Use decimal equivalent chart for conversions

Standard 3
Convert metric/inch measurements.

  1. Convert inch dimensions to metric
  2. Convert metric dimensions to inch
  3. Use metric/inch conversion chart

Standard 4
Demonstrate graphing data.

  1. Graph data from a table
  2. Read and interpret graphs

Performance Skill
Understand and demonstrate applied mathematics.

Students will understand the importance of career readiness skills as it relates to the workplace and outlined in the SkillsUSA Framework - Level 1.

  1. Develop awareness of cultural diversity and equality issues.
  2. Demonstrate effective communication with others.
  3. Apply team skills to a group project.
  4. Identify and apply conflict resolution skills.

Standard 2
Understand and demonstrate the ability of being resourceful and innovative.

  1. Discover self-motivation techniques and establish short-term goals.
  2. Measure/modify short-term goals.
  3. Review a professional journal and develop a three- to five-minute presentation.

Standard 3
Plan for your future career.

  1. Complete a self-assessment and identify individual learning styles.
  2. Define future occupations.
  3. Identify the components of an employment portfolio.
  4. List proficiency in program competencies.
  5. Complete a survey for employment opportunities.
  6. Create a job application.
