Students will recognize the functions and purposes of responsible dating.

Standard 1

Identify and discuss the purposes of dating.
  • Dating - Characteristics and Purposes
    Students will think about how they feel about dating. They will learn about physical attraction and the positives and negatives that are associated with dating. They will also learn the three purposes of dating.
  • Dating - What is Love?
    Students will be able to explore their feeling on love. They will first write down their feelings. Then as a class talk about love and infatuation, and what the differences are. Students will learn about the Ladder of Love and write a love poem of their own.
  • Dating Unit (Dat)
    This unit contains the following lessons: Purpose of Dating, Dating Behavior, Intimacy, STDs, Teen Pregnancy, and Types of Love.
  • M&F Chapter 7 - Dating and Mate selection
  • Theories and stages of dating.
  • Single life and reasons for marriage.
  • Purpose of Dating (Dat)
    Help students understand the importance of good dating and its stages. This is part of the Dating Unit.
  • Types of Love (Dat)
    This lesson will help students understand the different types of love. It is part of the Dating Unit.
