Writing (K.W)

Students will learn to write for a variety of tasks, purposes, and audiences using appropriate grammar/conventions, syntax, and style.

Standard K.W.2:

Use a combination of drawing and writing to compose informative/explanatory pieces and provide information about the topic.
  • American Symbols Unit
    In this American Symbols unit, students will learn information about American symbols. Students will learn about various American Symbols such as the American Flag, the Liberty Bell, the Statue of Liberty, the Bald Eagle, and the White House.   • Digging Up Details on Worms: Using the Language of Science in an Inquiry Study
    This lesson, in which students research worms in order to create a classroom habitat, incorporates reading and writing across content areas as well as science activities.
  • Kindergarten Animal Writing Lesson Plan
    In this lesson, students will write and illustrate 3 facts about an animal and make a recording of themselves reading their facts to make a movie clip in iMovie.
