Course Preface

  Program Components: Every student enrolled in an applied technology education course/program must have access to a related applied technology education leadership organization. Vocational Industrial Clubs of America (VICA) leadership organization is an integral part of every trade and technical education course.

Teacher Certification Requirements: Trade and technical education programs require T&I certification in the form of an Applied Technology Education Provisional, Basic, or Standard Certificate, with an endorsement in the specific area of instruction. (Drafting/CAD instructors, for example, must possess an endorsement in drafting.) Endorsements require, along with other standards, actual related occupational experience in the trade or industry.
