Fiber game cards
The information for this lesson plan is on the Utah Agriculture in the Classroom website. When you get to the website go to Teacher Resources; Secondary Teachers; Applied Technology; Technology,Life, and Careers; Clothes on the Grow. The Natural and Synthetic handouts are the overheads from this lesson.
Students will be able to correctly match natural and synthetic fibers.
Give students the natural and synthetic fibers papers. Divide the class into 5 groups. Assign each group one of the 5 paragraphs to read. Then have them do a Tea Party. Have them get into groups and explain what they read to 4-6 other students. Have them continue to do this until they have had all 5 paragraphs explained to them.
Hand out the fiber game cards. Have the students work as a group to put the fibers into the correct categories. Check student work.
Check students Fiber game cards to assess their understanding.
