Instructional Procedures

I have chosen to provide skeleton storyboards as I teach PowerPoint as opposed to asking for completely original work. This route helps students delve further into ethics, rules, and laws, and provides support in grammar/spelling to English Language Learners and others. Even so, it is essential to remind, prod, and demand that students use the spell check tool and peer proofreading since mistakes will be on display!

  1. Watch closely as the teacher demonstrates how to create a well-designed PowerPoint presentation using a variety of features and effects. (I use one the available storyboards on ethics.)
  2. Review the assignment sheet.
  3. Review detailed expectations on the grading rubric.
  4. Use the storyboard of your choice to create your presentation.
  5. Rehearse timings and set up your show to loop continuously.
  6. Play the show for the class, and walk around to evaluate shows that were created by others by filling out the Slide Show Viewer assignment sheet.
  7. If teacher did not get a chance to grade your presentation, send it to her as an attachment to email
