Summary

The opportunities to work in the healthcare industry are very good, and will continue to be over many years. Students will have the opportunity to explore healthcare careers in the business classroom. Students will do a career inventory based upon their personality type.

Instructional Procedures

Holland Codes are a set of personality types developed in the 1970s by psychologist John L. Holland. Dr. Holland found that people work best in environments that match their interests.

  1. Go through the PowerPoint titled, "Healthcare Students in Action."
  2. Have the students get on the computer and complete the career test found on the following website: http://www.123test.com/career-test/
  3. The students will go through a 15 question career profile test. The students will need to pick one career they are interested in, and one career they are not interested in for each of the questions.
  4. After the students have completed the career profile, they need to complete the Healthcare Students in Action Worksheet using their results.
