Summary

Students will fill out an opinionaire to test their background knowledge on artificial organs. They will answer pre-reading questions and read an article on Artificial Hearts.

Instructional Procedures

  1. Read the student procedures with the class. You may wish students to write on their own papers to save on copying.
  2. Give students time to make their own opinions and discuss with their groups. In a class discussion share and discuss the results that generally accepted:

  3. Ask students to complete the pre-reading questions and read the article. The students should finish by writing a paragraph on whether the U.S. should continue to fund research on artificial hearts. Their answers should reflect the reading.
