To introduce Students to reading and making plans for woodworking projects

Some plans for students to see, Handouts and worksheet, a small project (nightstand prefered), drawing tools,


Background for Teachers

A basic knowledge of woodworking and of drawing plans and reading them


Intended Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to better build because the planned it out. Also the element of design should be inceased. Be able to share and recieve woodworking ideas with other.

Attachments

-Introduce Plans, go over them and how to read them. -Why are plans important -Views and elevation -Symbols -Dimensioning and scales -Architectural rulers -Have handout of different specs and guidelines for drawing plans (Refer to attachment)


Strategies for Diverse Learners

After teaching the lesson, demonstrate how to draw plans and do it with the class. Then give students time to draw a small project of there own


Assessment Plan

Students will hand in plans after they are done and will be graded accordingly.
