Students will complete a variety of activities that focus on maps.
A map is a geographic picture of places. Maps can show something as large as the Earth or something as small as a room. A map of the world is made up of water and land. The water is represented by a blue color. The land is represented by various colors.

Invitation to Learn
Toss around a plastic globe and ask participants what they notice or know about a globe.
Students draw their own map and label the parts. Students color and add detail to the class world map.
