Top Utah Teachers Announced

10 Utah teachers were presented with UEA Excellence in Teaching Awards at a recent awards banquet 

Utah’s flagship public television stations, KUED, and KUEN Networks have produced and underwritten video profiles of 10 Utah teachers who were presented with UEA Excellence in Teaching Awards at a recent awards banqueta at Loveland Living Planets Aquarium. The videos are available at

In addition, UEA presented Honor Roll awards to Jim Hofeling, president of Jordan Credit Union, and Tami Pyfer, the governor’s education advisor, for their support to public education in the state. The UEA also honored Laura Bechdel of the Park City School District with the Charles E. Bennett Human and Civil Rights award.

The Utah Education and Telehealth Network is a nationally recognized innovator in broadband and broadcast services to improve education and healthcare in Utah.  Through public/private partnerships UETN provides a secure robust broadband network throughout the state and operates UEN-TV on behalf of the Utah State Board of Regents. UETN collaborates with higher education, public education, libraries, healthcare and telecommunication providers to support advanced connectivity and high quality content, resources, tools and training throughout the state.

KUED broadcasts on Channel 7 in the Salt Lake valley, and is available throughout the state via a network of translators that rebroadcast the signal. The station operates under the umbrella of the University of Utah, and has its facilities in the Delores Doré Eccles Broadcast Center on the University of Utah campus.
