Description: Students will be able to identify the five food groups and be able to categorize food into the proper group. They will also be able to distinguish between healthy food options and unhealthy food options. The teacher will observe and assess their understanding of these concepts through a variety of class activities.

Able to catorgorize food into correct food group Student is able to correctly identify a type of food for each of the 5 food groups Student is able to correctly identify a type of food for at least 4 of the food groups Student is able to correctly identify a type of food for at least 3 of the food groups. Student is able to correctly identify a type of food for 2 or less of the food groups.
Distinguish between healthy and unhealthy foods Student is able to select a food and determine if it is healthy or unhealthy Student selects a food but can not determine if it is healthy or unhealthy
Willing to try new food from the food groups Student is willing to try some of the new foods introduced from the food groups. Student is not willing to try new foods introduced from the food groups.
