Through the Lens: Fall Film Series

Through the Lens screenings return this fall! We're pulling back the curtain this fall highlighting three unique stories that are sure to shake up one's usual point of view by introducing a new take. 12/13 - Subject. Through the Lens is the flagship film program of Utah Film Center. Since launching in 2011, in partnership with KUER 90.1’s RadioWest, the series has presented film screenings and in-depth post-film discussions featuring fascinating documentaries, spectacular narratives, and special film events.

100 Years of Utah Film & TV Exhibition
January 12 - December 31, 2024
From January 12 — December 31, 2024, the Utah Film Commission will host an exhibition on the 4th floor of the Utah State Capitol celebrating 100 years of Utah Film & Television inspired by James V. D’Arc’s When Hollywood Came to Utah. More details to come.

Submissions for Tumbleweeds Film Fest 2024
Deadline: March 15, 2024
Submissions Open for the 2024 Tumbleweeds Film Competition for Kids Grades K-8. The finalists will have a special screening and gain entry into the film festival. Submissions close March 15th, 2024.

Focus on the Future Film Festival
Deadline: October 1, 2024
This film festival is open to all filmmakers that are Utah residents either 18-25 years of age or students currently enrolled / recent graduates of Utah colleges or universities. Submissions to the fUTure of Utah Filmmakers' Showcase must be 25 minutes or less in total runtime and completed within the last year, or 2022 or later. Now Accepting Submissions!
